One thing I know: we live in an abundant Universe. There is more than enough for everyone.
Another thing I know: you won’t get booked or get clients or sell books if you don’t market yourself.
Last thing I know (for the sake of this argument): most people – even accomplished speakers, coaches, and authors – are terrible marketers. Especially those with a passion for their cause. They can tell you everything you want to know about the cause, but they often have a hard time convincing people to donate money, volunteer, or promote the cause to others. They mistakenly believe their passion alone will infuse others to share it. Sometimes it does, but generally speaking, the causes that succeed are the ones that have passionate promoters who know the importance of implementing smart marketing campaigns.

action. It also requires creativity, finesse, and attention to detail.
The problem is that most speakers and coaches are very good at speaking and coaching – they’re just not necessarily all that accomplished at creating strategic marketing plans that actually work to attract their ideal clients or writing books that reach the audiences they want and deserve. This is not a slight – as I just said, we’re all naturally good at specific things; likewise, there are other areas where we tend to need professional support. (Ask my niece about my math skills if you want personal proof from me!)
Are you a speaker or coach who doesn't have a book yet? Isn't it time you finally wrote it? A book will give you credibility you've never had before. You can use it as an uberbusiness card, and use it to open doors that have, up till now, remained closed. You can use it as a bonus product for affiliate relationships. Creating that book is easier than you might think. You need to know just 3 things: (a) what your message is, (b) who your audience is, and (c) why you need to tell your story. The rest – the editing, book production, marketing, etc. – is the easy part. But no one else on earth can manufacture the passion and knowledge that you, alone, possess. We live in an abundant Universe. There’s more than enough for everyone out there. Because I so adamantly believe in the Law of Attraction, I don’t generally speak in terms of competition – it’s just more natural for me to think of the others in my industry as colleagues. But the speaker who’s going to get the gig … the coach who will earn 6 figures their first year … the author who’s going to crack the best-seller list … is the one who knows how to stand out among some very crowded fields.
